Challenge

Develop a campaign that creates awareness for female genital mutilation on Zero Tolerance Day.

Idea

Female genital mutilation is too horrible to show and also not allowed on Facebook. Therefore we put a camera on the faces of famous Dutch people and created a reaction video. While the audience watched them being in shock and shedding a tear, we displayed the message “We mogen onze ogen niet sluiten voor dit probleem”. Which roughly translates to “We can’t ignore this problem”.

Results

- The campaign got covered in multiple media outlets such as De Telegraaf, Metro, Glamour and the famous Dutch TV show Koffietijd.
- Over 650.000 people watched the video for more than 10 seconds.
